Rio Del Mar Memorial

This memorial on Aptos Creek caught my eye. I wonder about the pieces
of fruit? What do they represent? What do they mean?

Jackson Ranch

Found this one on an unfinished roll of Holga film. The photo
was made on the return from a winter trip to Yosemite,
California State Route 140, near Catheys Valley.

Sunflower Sequence

Every summer sunflowers are planted along the edge of the brussel
sprout fields on Sunset Beach Road, Watsonville.
Photo made with a Polaroid OneStep2 i-Type Camera.
This year I made photos with a variety of cameras.
Photo made with a Hasselblad X-Pan II panorama camera.
It’s fun to see the look different cameras produce.
Photo made with an iPhoneX, edited with Snapseed.
I broke out a trusty Holga 120N for this final photograph.

Before there was Instagram there was Holga!  This is a handcolored
silver print. Made with a plastic camera. The Lakes, Copenhagen, 2016.

Unhappy Accident

Photographers love to use the term “a happy accident” to describe a
successful photograph that happened by chance. Above is an “unhappy accident”. I’m not 100% sure what happened
My guess would be it has something to do with heat. There’s the blotchy grey areas and the frame numbers showing in the photo. It’s a mystery. Too bad! This roll was from a classic day walking on South County beaches.

Mood

I’ve been working on a new group of photos for my web page.
This one seems to fit the current mood.

Longshots

These photos are from a roll of Holga 120mm shot very quickly.
Call it an experiment in photo therapy.
Late afternoon, low tide, onshore wind and tiny waves.
But, surfers still gotta surf!
