Scott Creek

I’ve always loved this view. This was yesterday morning between cloudbursts. iPhone X, slightly edited in Snapseed (this is pretty true to the scene).

Red Umbrella

South County Sunday Walk! We saw all sorts of shore birds, dolphins, harbor seals and California sea lions. Low tide, small waves and slight offshore wind made for classic Central Coast conditions. It’s not spring yet, but it sure felt like it this morning. I posted a similar photo (but not the same photo) on my Instagram feed- @jonnycakes7 Photo made with iPhone X, edited in Snapseed.

Last week at the beach. I liked the texture in the sand and the tiny figure in the distance. Made with a Holga 120N and Ilford FP4 Plus black and white film.

Friday Wander

I was out doing a little wandering yesterday afternoon.

The fun zone was sleeping.

I had a couple of cameras loaded with black and white film. But it was the bright colors that caught my eye.

iPhone to the rescue! This sequence was made on an iPhone 6 and edited with Snapseed!

A Few Weeks Ago

I’ve photographed this late afternoon scene many times. I like the figures framed by the wharf. And, if I’m lucky, someone walking above.

Cold and Windy

It was a cold and windy day with a little rain in the morning. I’d been working around the house most of the day. In the late afternoon I decided to check out the beach area for photos. Here’s one of them.

Street Scene

Doing “street photography” is challenging. Doing it in a small arena like Santa Cruz is crazy hard. Locals here are pretty camera savvy. Eyes gravitate to the camera, questions are asked and the candid element is lost. The monthly antique fair downtown provides a few possibilities for street photos. I checked it out earlier this month and made this photo
