Roadside Memorial v.2

A couple of weeks ago I posted an iPhone photo of this memorial.
A few days after that I drove up in the early morning to make a
few black and white photos with a medium format
film camera. I have to admit, the scene looks much better in color.
There’s not much separation in black and white, the sense of faded
color is lost and the coastal landscape is unremarkable.

Oh well, not every photo is successful.

Roadside Memorial

Photographed near Wilder Ranch yesterday while on a morning bike ride.
The memorial has been there for a long time. I’ve biked and driven by many times thinking it was a photograph. With the grass and weeds cut around it and the sky and ocean in sight, yesterday was the day!

Memorial

I was riding my bike this morning and this memorial to Frank Furtado “Francisco”
Dutra caught my eye. I didn’t know him but the scene moved me.
