Yesterday morning in the wet, gray, fog that passes for summer around here, I checked out the Santa Cruz Triathlon.

If your get a chance to check out the "Birth of Impressionism" show at the de Young Museum, do so. It's a unique opportunity to see a collection of paintings that may never travel together again. And the people watching is fun too! The second installment "Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, and Beyond" will open in September.
